Nominations are open. Please contact Zoe or the show office regarding entry nominations and requirements. Judging for the local Callide Valley Showgirl and Rural Ambassador competitions will take place on Tuesday evening the 12th May.
The Callide Valley Show will be hosting the regional CQ Sub Chamber finals for Showgirl and Rural Ambassador on the 27th June 2026 in time for the Ekka in August.

What are the Showgirl Awards?
The Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards hosted by Queensland Ag Shows (Showgirl Awards) is a leadership program for all young women engaged in their communities and the agricultural show movement in Queensland. The aim of the Showgirl Awards is to ‘Recognise, Develop and Celebrate Young Female Leaders in our Communities’. The Showgirl Awards allows agricultural shows to engage young women in their communities to develop their leadership skills and confidence to continue their involvement in, and representation of, their agricultural show.
The Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards has continued to develop since its inception in 1983. Personality, confidence and leadership qualities; ambitions and goals; general knowledge; contextual agricultural knowledge; agricultural show knowledge, insight and commitment; community participation; presentation and public speaking skills are key when selecting a Showgirl.
